I think the “cool n quiet” feature might already be enabled by default, but I’m not sure. I get in the BIOS by pressing a key at some point during the boot up sequence right? I have an Abit AN8 SLI motherboard that I think has a Phoenix BIOS. To get this to work, I have to enable “cool n quiet” in the BIOS. but for the fans and cooling to ramp up appropriately when I’m in a game. Will the Amd “cool and quiet” feature work with this manual fan speed control on the power supply?īasically, I’d like the PC to be quiet when I’m on the internet, in Word, etc. I haven’t touched this knob yet and have just left it how Monarch set it. My power supply (Enermax Noisetaker 600W) has a manual fan control knob on the back that, according to the documentation, switches between fans speeds for “normal” usage and “gaming” usage. I’ve read about the Amd “cool n quiet” feature and I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it.ĭoes it function correctly? Does it pose a risk to the system of components overheating? Does anyone know if this voids warranties? I just bought an Amd Athlon 64 X2 4400+ machine from and it’s a little loud during normal, non-gaming, operation.
